Who is the first Indian to travel by train ?

One of the greatest nineteenth century reformist Raja Ram Mohan Roy travelled from Manchester to Liverpool. by the newly opened train service on 9th April 1831. according to a letter - written by Raja"s friend. James Sutherland who accompanied him on the journey as published in newspapers,

it means that Raja Ram Mohan Roy earned the distinction of being the first rail passenger of the Indian subcontinent,
