On the 73rd Army Day. Let us pay our tributes and salutes to Indian Army. 

Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General (later Field Marshal) K. M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.

Indian Army is one of the largest peace keeping forces in the world.

Indian Army’s Major Anoop Mishra has indigenously developed world’s first universal bulletproof jacket 'Shakti' which can be used by both male and female combatants. The jacket is also the world’s first flexible body armour.
