The lessons learnt

WHAT I HAVE LEARNT DURING PANDEMIC

PART - 2

7. The most affected section of the society is middle class, in my opinion. The problems with educated middle class people are the following:

A. They are not much laborious and they are addicted to white colour jobs.

B. Mostly they are service oriented people and for buying a residence or a car they have to take loans and they are under debt atleast for the 20-25 years of their life.

C. They can not compete with rich or super rich class but show off they must. I have seen that number of I phone using middle class people are much more in number than the  rich or super rich category.

D. No government takes them seriously and treat them as milch cows, whose tax etc. is deducted before they get their hard earned money in hand.

E. Many a times I have seen that government has written off bank loans of the super rich and people from other sectors. But the only exception is middle class. I have not seen any loan maffi extended to middle class by any government. Even at the time of pandemic they were forced to pay bank EMIs in time.

F. They don't have any worth the name organisation or union, who can look after their interests. They are divided by virtue of caste, creed, etc. etc. The person who is getting salary of 50k looks scornfully to the person who is getting 40k.

G. Middle class people always boast that I am a manager of this company or general manager of that company, forgetting that ultimaty they are all servants of the owners of the company. Any day they can be kicked out. However, kicking out a fourth class staff is not that easy as they have their unions and all the ministers,  MPs, MLAs, always come to their rescue and for their help. This is primarily because they have consolidated themselves as vote banks. Where as middle class spends hours after hours discussing politics wasting valuable time but at the time of voting most of them don't go to vote. Even if they vote their votes are divided. Hence no political party takes middle class people seriously. Every year during budget government fools the middle class by offering some freebies which means nothing and whose total impact is zero on the pocket. If sometimes government gives something by one hand they snatch it by other hand.

H. Most of the middle class people can not think out of the box. Their thinking capacity is very limited. I saw many people who lost their jobs during pandemic were fruitlessly searching for new jobs. But I have seen many so called lower class people changed their profession overnight to survive. For example a driver became a vegetable seller, a tea shop owner began selling milk as milk is an essential item etc.  Somehow many of them earned something to survive. But middle class people can not do blue collar job because of their false ego.

I. I have seen many people wasting hundreds of man hours fiddling their mobile phones posting seeing and reading silly jokes and videos. They never tried to explore other avenues of income present in social media or online jobs and earning. However few people tried their hands in online tution (because it is a  white collar job). But soon competition increased so much in this line and this line was no more lucrative.

J. Middle class parents give much importance to education and to the marks scored by their children. They always say study hard and get very good marks and then you will get good job. Almost nobody says, " Ok,  study is important but side by side develop yourself to become an entrepreneur or businessman. Always try to be job giver rather than being a job seeker.  Only exceptions are Gujaratis, Marwaris and Sindhis.

So when there is a recession in the job market middle class people are affected most.

Here also one should remember that our pattern of education is outdated and mostly it is impractical and theoretical. Course contents are huge and atleast 75 percent of syllabi is useless having no practical value.

K.   Last but not the least educated middle class people can not beg and can not weep before the others.

All these things have made the middle class people most vulnerable.

If they do not unite and help each other (whatever capacity it can be) these middle class people will suffer again and again. Side by side they should come out of their ivory towers. They should develop second or third source of income. Apart from job they should find out new ways of direct and passive income. They should try their hands in small businesses,  online businesses.

Instead of keep money in savings account and fix deposits in banks, whose rate of interest is going down every year, they should invest smartly.  It is also pathetic that in school and colleges nothing is taught about how to handle money, how to invest smartly to get good returns.

Ninety percent of middle class people do not know about the different schemes of the government and what benefit they can reap from there. They only rely on savings account, fixed deposit account, PPF or at the most monthly income schemes of post offices, whose interest rates are nosediving every year.

So this is the situation of the middle class people nowadays. God forbid, if third wave of pandemic comes, one shudders to think that what will happen to this class.

So the only way to survive is to help each other forgetting our caste creed designation, salary scale etc.

I have decades of experience in the above mentioned fields. I will regularly share my views and suggestions in my timeline. You can follow it if you like.

I will also guide the students about new avenues of professions and jobs and ofcourse business and entrepreneurship, so that they don't have to rely on the traditional ones only, like Medicine, Engineering, CA, Lawyer, Govt. Service etc.,where in any case competition is severe. Later I will make an Fb page.

Another thing is that if any one of you are doing any type of business in any field, please contact me. I can promote it upto some extent, free of cost, though I can not promise any result.

All these things which I have written are in general terms. Exceptions are always there. I, myself belong to an ordinary middle class family. Hence I know the pains of the middle class people throughly. In no way I am insulting the middle class people.

Thanks and Regards to all.
